How It Works

The social crop tool has 11 size presets covering the major platforms, plus a custom width and height input. Pick a preset and a crop frame locked to that shape appears over your image. Drag the frame to choose which part of the photo to keep, then crop.

The selected region is drawn onto a canvas at the exact target dimensions and downloaded as a PNG. The Instagram Post preset, for example, always produces a 1080x1080 file regardless of the original image size.

Why the right size matters: If your image is the wrong shape for a platform, the platform crops it automatically and you don't get a say in what gets cut. Cropping to the expected shape yourself means you choose the framing.

The OG Image preset makes the preview image that appears when a link is shared on social media, in messaging apps, and anywhere else that reads Open Graph metadata.

Custom Sizes

If the size you need is not in the presets, type any width and height in pixels and the tool crops to that instead.

Best Practices

Start from the largest source image you have. Presets like YouTube Thumbnail (1280x720) look soft if the source is smaller than the target.
Keep key elements away from the edges, since some platforms lay buttons and captions over the image.
Mind the corners on covers and headers, where profile photos often overlap.
Check how the result looks on a phone, where most of your audience will see it.
